Ingredients

  • Ground beef (or turkey) - 250 grams
  • Panko breadcrumbs - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Kimchi - 100 grams, chopped
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha - 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves - 2

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef (or turkey), panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onion, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the kimchi slaw by mixing chopped kimchi, mayonnaise, and sriracha in a small bowl.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, toast the burger buns lightly on the skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked meatball patty, and then top with the kimchi slaw and the bun top.
