  • Mackerel fillets - 200 grams

  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Cucumber, thinly sliced - 1/2
  • Carrot, julienned - 1/2
  • Green lettuce leaves - 2
  • Kimchi - 50 grams
  • Lime wedges - 2

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, and red pepper flakes to create a marinade.
  2. Add the mackerel fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or a grilling pan over medium heat.
  4. Remove the fish from the marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and lightly charred.
  5. While the fish is grilling, prepare the burger buns by lightly toasting them on the grill.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the grilled fish, sliced cucumber, julienned carrot, and a generous spoonful of kimchi.
