Ingredients

  • Mackerel or trout - 400 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Lemon - 1, sliced (for serving)

Steps

  1. Clean and gut the fish, if necessary, and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onion, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  3. Place the fish in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the fish is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  5. Once the grill is hot, place the marinated fish on it and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
