Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Instant yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Butter (melted) - 20 grams
  • Curry powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Potato (diced) - 100 grams
  • Carrot (diced) - 50 grams
  • Green onion (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • Egg (for egg wash) - 1 (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. While the dough is rising, heat vegetable oil in a pan. Add diced potatoes and carrots, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Stir in curry powder, green onions, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle.
  6. Place a tablespoon of the curry filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal.
  7. Place the filled dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. If using, brush the tops with a beaten egg for a glossy finish.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and let the dough rise for another 15 minutes.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
