Ingredients

  • Spaghetti - 200 grams
  • Halal bacon (or beef bacon) - 100 grams, diced
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced halal bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the fat in the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, gochujang, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
  5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and onion, tossing to combine. Remove from heat.
  6. Quickly pour the egg mixture over the hot pasta, tossing continuously to create a creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
  7. Stir in the crispy bacon and season with black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
