Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Mixed salad greens - 100 grams
  • Cucumber - 1/2, julienned
  • Carrot - 1, julienned
  • Red bell pepper - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Green onion - 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, brown sugar, and black pepper. Add the sliced beef, toss to coat, and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef is marinating, prepare the salad by mixing the salad greens, cucumber, carrot, red bell pepper, and green onion in a large bowl.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly before adding it to the salad bowl.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar and chili flakes (if using). Drizzle this dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
  6. Serve the salad topped with the warm beef and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
