Ingredients
- Beef flank steak - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Brown erythritol sweetener - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Green onion - 1, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Steps
- 1. Slice the beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown erythritol sweetener, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
- 3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
- 4. Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 5. Arrange the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.
- 6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and dry the beef for about 3-4 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of chewiness.
- 7. Remove the jerky from the oven and allow it to cool. Garnish with sliced green onion before serving.
