Ingredients

  • Beef flank steak - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Brown erythritol sweetener - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Green onion - 1, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Steps

  1. 1. Slice the beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. 2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown erythritol sweetener, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
  3. 3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
  4. 4. Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. 5. Arrange the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.
  6. 6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and dry the beef for about 3-4 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of chewiness.
  7. 7. Remove the jerky from the oven and allow it to cool. Garnish with sliced green onion before serving.
