- Firm tofu - 400 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Maple syrup - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 15 ml
- Rice vinegar - 15 ml
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
- Vegetable oil - for grilling
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then slice it into 1.5 cm thick steaks.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and gochujang to create a marinade.
- Place the tofu steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
- Grill the marinated tofu steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they have a nice char and are heated through.
- Remove from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
