- Firm tofu - 400 grams
- Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mixed salad greens - 100 grams
- Cooked brown rice - 200 grams
Steps
- Press the firm tofu to remove excess water for about 15 minutes, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, gochujang, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
- Place the tofu slices in the marinade and let them marinate for at least 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Heat vegetable oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated tofu slices for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and slightly charred.
- While the tofu is grilling, prepare the salad by tossing mixed salad greens with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve the grilled tofu on a plate with a side of brown rice and the mixed salad greens.
