Ingredients

  • Seitan - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, gochujang, maple syrup, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the seitan into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated seitan pieces, reserving the marinade.
  4. Cook the seitan for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it is well caramelized and heated through.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade over the seitan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot with rice or lettuce leaves.
