Ingredients

  • Ground beef (Halal) - 250 grams
  • Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Gochujang - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined, but do not overmix.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  5. In a small bowl, mix an additional tablespoon of gochujang with a tablespoon of water to create a glaze.
  6. Brush the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve with steamed rice or kimchi.
