Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
- Red bell pepper - 1 small, sliced
- Lettuce leaves (Butter or Romaine) - 6 to 8 leaves
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon for garnish
Steps
- Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar, and gochujang to create a marinade.
- Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated tofu for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.
- While the tofu cooks, prepare the vegetables by julienning the carrot and cucumber, and slicing the red bell pepper.
- Once the tofu is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- To assemble the wraps, take a lettuce leaf, add some tofu, and top with the julienned vegetables and chopped green onions.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish and serve immediately.
