Ingredients

  • young green jackfruit in water - 400 grams
  • soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • burger buns - 2
  • romaine lettuce, shredded - 1 cup
  • sliced cucumber - 1/2 cup
  • sliced radishes - 1/2 cup
  • sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Drain and rinse the young green jackfruit. Remove the seeds and shred the jackfruit using your hands or a fork.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar, and lime juice. Mix well to create a marinade.
  3. Add the shredded jackfruit to the marinade, ensuring it's well coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated jackfruit and sauté for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly caramelized.
  5. Toast the burger buns in the skillet for a couple of minutes until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a generous portion of the sautéed jackfruit on the bottom half of each bun. Top with shredded romaine lettuce, sliced cucumber, and sliced radishes.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and place the other half of the bun on top. Serve immediately.
