- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Brown sugar - 10 grams
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
- Tomato, sliced - 1 medium
- Kimchi - 50 grams
- Gochujang - 1 tablespoon
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Mix well and let marinate for 15 minutes.
- While the beef is marinating, prepare the gochujang mayo by mixing gochujang and mayonnaise in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Form the marinated beef into two patties.
- Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading gochujang mayo on the bottom bun, adding a lettuce leaf, a beef patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous spoonful of kimchi. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the assembled burgers for added flavor and serve immediately.
