Ingredients

  • Spaghetti - 160 grams
  • Kimchi - 150 grams, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 small, julienned
  • Eggs - 2, large (optional for topping)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped kimchi and julienned carrot to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the kimchi is heated through.
  4. Stir in the cooked spaghetti, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything together to combine and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
  6. If using eggs, fry them sunny-side-up in a separate pan while the spaghetti is cooking.
  7. Serve the kimchi spaghetti topped with a fried egg (if used) and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
