Ingredients

  • Dried wakame seaweed - 15 grams
  • Beef brisket - 150 grams, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce (low-sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 4 cups (1 liter)
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Soak the dried wakame seaweed in warm water for about 10 minutes until it expands, then drain and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a medium pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef brisket to the pot and cook until browned, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour in the 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Add the soaked and chopped wakame seaweed to the pot along with the soy sauce, and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Season the soup with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
