Ingredients

  • Ground black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Scallions - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, water, salt, and ground black pepper until fully combined.
  2. Stir in the finely chopped scallions, sesame oil, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Pour the mixture into a heatproof bowl or a small steaming dish.
  4. Prepare a steamer pot or a large pot with a steaming rack and bring water to a gentle boil.
