Ingredients

  • Mackerel fillets - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, lemon juice, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the mackerel fillets in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  4. Remove the mackerel from the marinade and place them on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  5. Once cooked, remove the mackerel from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
