- Mackerel fillets - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
- Green onion, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, lemon juice, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the mackerel fillets in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
- Remove the mackerel from the marinade and place them on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Once cooked, remove the mackerel from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
