Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 400 grams
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine gochugaru, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it in the hot skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
  5. During the last couple of minutes of cooking, sprinkle the chopped green onions over the chicken.
  6. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
