Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g., cod or haddock) - 200 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, flake the white fish fillets into small pieces.
  3. Add the almond flour, egg, chopped green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the fish, and mix well until combined.
  4. Grease a baking dish with olive oil and transfer the fish mixture into the dish, pressing it down evenly.
  5. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top of the fish cake mixture.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fish is cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
