Ingredients
- Pork shoulder - 300 grams, minced
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 100 grams, julienned
- Carrot - 50 grams, julienned
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine minced pork, gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, and black pepper. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the pork is marinating, prepare the cucumber and carrot slaw by mixing julienned cucumber, carrot, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated pork mixture. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until fully cooked and slightly caramelized.
- While the pork is cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a generous scoop of the cooked pork, a portion of the cucumber and carrot slaw, and a sprinkle of chopped green onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your spicy Jeyuk Burger!
