- Fresh abalone - 100 grams, cleaned and sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
Steps
- Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot, stirring for about 2 minutes to coat the rice with the oil and aromatics.
- Add the water to the pot, bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After 20 minutes, add the sliced abalone, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir gently to combine and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes until the porridge reaches a creamy consistency.
- Remove from heat, let it sit for a few minutes, then serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
