Ingredients

  • Carrots - 150 grams, julienned
  • Daikon radish - 150 grams, julienned
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sugar. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the julienned carrots and daikon radish to the saucepan. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Add the sliced shiitake mushrooms to the pan and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until they are cooked through.
  4. Stir in the sesame oil and half of the chopped green onion. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with the remaining green onion and toasted sesame seeds.
