Ingredients

  • Beef brisket - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional)

Steps

  1. Cut the beef brisket into 2-3 cm pieces and set aside.
  2. In a medium pot, combine soy sauce, water, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper. Stir well.
  3. Add the beef pieces to the pot and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for about 40-50 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
  5. Check occasionally, and if the sauce reduces too much, add a bit of water to maintain the liquid.
  6. Once the beef is tender, remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly.
  7. Serve the jangjorim warm or at room temperature, garnished with chopped green onions and slices of red chili pepper if desired.
