Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Granulated sugar - 30 grams
- Yeast - 5 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Milk - 50 ml
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 40 grams
- Chopped walnuts - 30 grams
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and 10 grams of sugar. Stir gently and let it activate for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, salt, and milk. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a disc and place a tablespoon of the filling in the center.
- Carefully fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal. Shape into balls.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Place the filled dough balls seam-side down in the skillet.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown, pressing down gently with a spatula to flatten them slightly.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with honey or additional brown sugar.
