Ingredients

  • Sweet pumpkin - 200 grams
  • Glutinous rice flour - 150 grams
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 200 milliliters
  • Sesame seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Steam the sweet pumpkin for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Once cooked, mash it until smooth and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and salt. Add the mashed pumpkin and mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Prepare a steaming dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Steam the batter over high heat for 20-25 minutes, or until the tteok is firm and cooked through.
  6. Once done, remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes. Cut into small squares or desired shapes.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
