- Sweet pumpkin - 200 grams
- Glutinous rice flour - 150 grams
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 200 milliliters
- Sesame seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Steam the sweet pumpkin for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Once cooked, mash it until smooth and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and salt. Add the mashed pumpkin and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
- Prepare a steaming dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the dish, spreading it evenly.
- Steam the batter over high heat for 20-25 minutes, or until the tteok is firm and cooked through.
- Once done, remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes. Cut into small squares or desired shapes.
- Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
