Ingredients

  • Fresh oysters - 200 grams
  • Clams - 200 grams
  • Water - 1 liter
  • Sea kelp (dashima) - 10 grams
  • Garlic cloves - 3, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a pot, combine 1 liter of water and the sea kelp, bringing it to a boil. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to infuse the flavor.
  2. Remove the sea kelp and add minced garlic and ginger to the broth, simmering for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Add the fresh oysters and clams to the pot and cover, cooking for about 5-7 minutes or until the shellfish have opened.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and season with black pepper and salt to taste.
  5. Add chopped green onion and red pepper flakes (if using) just before serving.
  6. Serve the soup hot, garnished with extra green onions if desired.
