Ingredients
- Fresh oysters - 200 grams
- Dashi stock - 500 ml
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onions - 1 stalk, chopped
- Chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional)
- Salt - to taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Ice cubes - as needed
Steps
- Start by shucking the fresh oysters and rinsing them gently under cold water. Set aside.
- In a pot, bring the dashi stock to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt to the dashi stock. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove the broth from heat and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, add lemon juice and mix.
- In serving bowls, place a handful of ice cubes to chill the broth further.
- Divide the shucked oysters evenly between the bowls and pour the chilled broth over the oysters.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sliced chili pepper if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Gul Naengguk!
