Ingredients
- Fresh oysters - 200 grams
- Nori sheets - 2
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
Steps
- Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a bowl, combine the oysters with lemon juice, sesame oil, and sea salt, and let them marinate for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the vegetables by julienning the cucumber and carrot, and slicing the avocado.
- Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat or clean surface with the shiny side down.
- Arrange a layer of marinated oysters in the center of the nori, followed by a line of cucumber, carrot, and avocado slices.
- Sprinkle gochugaru and chopped cilantro over the filling.
- Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the nori away from you, tucking the filling in tightly, and continue rolling until the entire sheet is rolled up.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into bite-sized pieces. Repeat with the second nori sheet.
- Serve the Gul Kimbap immediately with extra lemon wedges and dipping sauce if desired.
