  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Thoroughly clean the clams under cold running water to remove any sand or grit.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, water, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Add the cleaned clams to the saucepan. Cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the clams have opened up.
  4. Once the clams are cooked, remove them from heat and stir in the chopped green onions and sesame oil.
  5. Serve the Gul Jorim hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
