Ingredients

  • Squid - 200 grams, cleaned and sliced
  • Mussels - 200 grams, cleaned
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 4 tablespoons
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Red chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional for heat)
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a medium pot, combine the soy sauce, water, minced garlic, ginger, sugar, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Once simmering, add the squid and mussels to the pot. Stir to ensure they are coated with the sauce.
  3. Cover the pot and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the mussels have opened and the squid is tender.
  4. Remove the lid and add the chopped green onion and sliced red chili pepper (if using). Stir and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Drizzle sesame oil over the dish just before serving for added flavor.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
