Ingredients

  • Water - 600 ml
  • Dried anchovies - 20 g
  • Kelp (dried) - 10 g
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tsp, minced
  • Miso paste - 2 tbsp
  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 100 g
  • Squid (cleaned and sliced) - 100 g
  • Mussels (cleaned) - 100 g
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Red chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional)
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame oil - 1 tsp

Steps

  1. In a pot, combine water, dried anchovies, and kelp. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes to make the broth.
  2. Remove the anchovies and kelp from the pot, and add minced garlic and ginger. Stir well.
  3. Mix in the miso paste until fully dissolved, then add the shrimp, squid, and mussels to the pot.
  4. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the seafood is cooked through.
  5. Add chopped green onions and cilantro to the pot, and season with black pepper and sesame oil.
  6. If desired, add sliced red chili pepper for heat, then serve hot.
