Ingredients

  • Fresh squid - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped

Steps

  1. Clean the squid by removing the head, insides, and skin, then cut the body into rings and leave the tentacles whole.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, lemon juice, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Add the cleaned squid to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the squid rings and tentacles onto skewers for easy grilling.
  6. Grill the squid for about 2-3 minutes per side until they are opaque and slightly charred, being careful not to overcook.
  7. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
