Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 400 grams
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 4 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves - 6 pieces
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the pork belly into 1 cm thick pieces and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the pork belly from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
  5. Place the pork belly slices on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, basting with the reserved marinade occasionally, until they are nicely charred and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, remove the pork belly from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  7. Serve the grilled pork belly with fresh lettuce leaves, chopped green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Enjoy wrapping the pork in lettuce and adding your favorite dipping sauce.
