Ingredients
- Mackerel - 2 whole fish (about 300g each)
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon - 1, sliced for garnish
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Clean the mackerel thoroughly, removing any innards and rinsing under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onion, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the mackerel, ensuring it gets inside the cavity. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using a grill, oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
- Place the mackerel on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the skin is crispy and the fish is cooked through.
- Once done, remove from the grill and let it rest for a minute. Serve with lemon slices and a sprinkle of salt, if desired.
