- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon (for grilling)
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, toasted (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped scallions, black pepper, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
- Add the mackerel fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
- Remove the mackerel from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
- Once done, remove from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve hot with steamed rice and kimchi.
