- Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
- Water - 200 milliliters
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Red bean paste (sweetened) - 100 grams
- Sesame seeds (toasted) - 2 tablespoons
- Coconut milk - 50 milliliters
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour and sugar.
- Gradually add water while stirring until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a heatproof bowl and place it in a steamer.
- Steam the mixture for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- While the dough is steaming, prepare the red bean paste by mixing it with coconut milk and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over low heat until warmed through.
- Once the dough is ready, remove it from the steamer and let it cool slightly before handling.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and flatten each piece into a disc.
- Place a spoonful of red bean paste in the center of each disc, fold the dough over, and seal it to form a ball.
- Roll the finished balls in toasted sesame seeds to coat them evenly.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
