  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce (or coconut aminos for Paleo) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Zucchini - 1 medium, julienned

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, gochugaru, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), and sesame oil to create a marinade.

  3. Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil in a pot. Place a steaming basket or plate inside the pot.
  4. Arrange the marinated mackerel pieces on the steaming basket, then layer the julienned carrot and zucchini on top.
  5. Cover the pot with a lid and steam for about 15-20 minutes, or until the mackerel is cooked through and flakes easily.
