Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Gochujang - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Green onion, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
  • Cucumber, sliced - 1 small
  • Carrot, julienned - 1 small
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Avocado, sliced - 1 small
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, gochujang, minced garlic, chopped green onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil if needed. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the vegetables. In a small bowl, toss the sliced cucumber and julienned carrot with sesame oil.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, take a large lettuce leaf and place a beef patty in the center. Top with the cucumber and carrot mixture, avocado slices, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  7. Wrap the lettuce leaf around the fillings and enjoy your Gochujang Beef Burger!
