Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Bell pepper (red or yellow) - 1 medium, sliced
  • Zucchini - 1 medium, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, combine the gochugaru, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger to make the marinade.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and toss gently to coat. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the marinated tofu cubes to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the tofu and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add the bell pepper, zucchini, and carrot. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  7. Return the tofu to the skillet with the vegetables, and add any remaining marinade. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds, and season with salt to taste.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
