Ingredients
- Jasmine rice - 150 grams
- Water - 300 ml
- Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, diced
- Frozen peas - 100 grams
- Salt - to taste
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and 300 ml of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the diced carrot and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add frozen peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and add it to the skillet with the vegetables.
- In a small bowl, mix the gochugaru and soy sauce, then pour over the rice and vegetables. Stir well to combine.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
