  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 50 milliliters
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Spring onions - 1 stalk, chopped

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil and sauté the minced garlic and ginger for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. While the tofu is cooking, prepare the green chili peppers by removing the stems and slicing them in half lengthwise.
  5. Once the tofu is golden, add the sliced green chili peppers to the skillet and sauté for another 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, and water, then pour this mixture over the tofu and peppers.
  7. Stir well to coat all ingredients and let it simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  8. Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions before serving.
