Ingredients
- Green chili peppers - 4 large
- Tofu (firm) - 100 grams, crumbled
- Carrot - 50 grams, finely grated
- Spring onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- Rinse the green chili peppers and make a slit along one side of each to create a pocket, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled tofu, grated carrot, chopped spring onion, minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, cornstarch, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- Stuff each chili pepper with the tofu mixture, pressing it in gently to fill the pocket.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil.
- Once the oil is hot, place the stuffed peppers in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the cooked peppers from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve warm with dipping sauce or enjoy as is.
