Ingredients

  • Green chili peppers - 4 large
  • Tofu (firm) - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Carrot - 50 grams, finely grated
  • Spring onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. Rinse the green chili peppers and make a slit along one side of each to create a pocket, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled tofu, grated carrot, chopped spring onion, minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, cornstarch, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  3. Stuff each chili pepper with the tofu mixture, pressing it in gently to fill the pocket.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil.
  5. Once the oil is hot, place the stuffed peppers in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the cooked peppers from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve warm with dipping sauce or enjoy as is.
