Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Green onion, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cooked brown rice - 1 cup

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 10 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  3. Marinate the tofu slices in the gochujang mixture for at least 5 minutes, turning occasionally to coat evenly.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, then add the marinated tofu slices.
  5. Cook the tofu for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the tofu from the skillet and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve with a side of cooked brown rice for a complete breakfast.
