Ingredients

  • Short grain rice - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 1/4 cups
  • Raw blue crab - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pickled radish - 100 grams, for serving

Steps

  1. Rinse the short grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pot, combine the soaked rice and 1 1/4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
  3. While the rice is cooking, prepare the Ganjang Gejang marinade by mixing soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, green onion, and red chili flakes in a bowl.
  4. Clean the raw blue crab by removing the shell and gills, then chop the crab into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Add the crab pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and divide it into two bowls.
  7. Top each bowl of rice with the marinated crab, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve with pickled radish on the side.
