Ingredients

  • Blue crabs - 2 (approximately 500g each)
  • Soy sauce - 100 ml
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red chili pepper - 1, sliced
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the blue crabs thoroughly under cold water and remove the gills and stomach.
  2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Place the cleaned crabs in a large container or zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Add the chopped green onions and sliced red chili pepper to the container, mixing gently.
  5. Seal the container or bag and refrigerate for at least 12 hours, preferably 24 hours for deeper flavor.
  6. Once marinated, take the crabs out and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
  7. Serve the Ganjang-gejang with steamed rice and fresh vegetables.
