Ingredients

  • Crab (blue crab or similar) - 2 (about 500g total)

  • Water - 60 ml
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (sliced) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Chili pepper (sliced) - 1 small
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Start by cleaning the crabs thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or sand.
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, water, sesame oil, minced garlic, sliced ginger, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Place the cleaned crabs in a glass or ceramic container and pour the soy sauce mixture over them, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  4. Add the chopped green onions and sliced chili pepper on top of the crabs.
  5. Cover the container and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours for the best flavor, turning the crabs occasionally.
  6. When ready to serve, take out the crabs and sprinkle sesame seeds over them.
  7. Serve the Ganjang Gejang with steamed rice and enjoy.
