- Daikon radish - 100 grams, sliced
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Coconut aminos - 4 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth - 250 ml
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add the chopped onion, cooking until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pot and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Place the beef short ribs in the pot, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the coconut aminos, beef broth, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, ensuring the ribs are well-coated.
- Add the sliced carrots and daikon radish to the pot, then bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 1.5 hours until the beef is tender.
- During the last 10 minutes of cooking, add the chopped green onions and adjust salt to taste.
