- Brown sugar - 30 grams
- Sesame oil - 15 ml
- Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Cooked white rice - 2 cups
- Carrot (julienned) - 1 medium
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Eggs - 2 large
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
- Add the beef short ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- While the beef is marinating, prepare the rice according to package instructions.
- After marinating, heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness.
- In the same skillet, lightly sauté the julienned carrots and sliced cucumber for 2-3 minutes until just tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a separate pan, fry the eggs sunny-side up or to your preference.
- To assemble the bowls, place a serving of cooked rice at the bottom of each bowl. Top with grilled beef short ribs, sautéed vegetables, and a fried egg.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
