- Water - 1 liter
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Garlic - 5 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Carrots - 1 medium, sliced
- Daikon radish - 150 grams, cubed
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
Steps
- In a large pot, soak the beef short ribs in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess blood. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, combine 1 liter of water with the soaked short ribs, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 1 hour, skimming any foam that rises to the surface.
- After 1 hour, add the sliced carrots and cubed daikon radish to the pot. Stir to combine and cover again, simmering for an additional 30 minutes or until the meat is tender.
- Once cooked, drizzle sesame oil over the dish and stir in the chopped green onions. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.
